Drawing inspiration from the refined women portraits in pre-Raphaelite paintings (especially those by John Everett Millais), Christos Costarellos addresses a woman who is ethereal and delicate, yet strong-willed and self- confident. In his unflinchingly radical style he honors the female body resulting in arty but casual sophistication.
The Costarellos Pre-Fall 2017 collection is an array of dresses in ivory, black, teal green, vintage rose, burgundy red and magenta aiming to glorify female charm. Luxurious materials such as embroidered tulle, cordonnet lace, guipure and Chantilly lace are skillfully used to create gowns that enhance natural beauty.
The sleeves and skirts widen and emphasis is given at the shoulders while narrow frills adorn the neck and the wrists of long-sleeved dresses, composing a collection which cherishes female sensuality and elegance.
