The brand remains committed to its pledge to create the most beautiful, desirable products with the smallest possible impact on our environment, and continues to spearhead towards sustainability and circularity through its various eco-friendly initiatives.
OUR FOOTPRINT
In an effort to reduce our ecological footprint, all of our garments are ethically hand-produced in Europe where most of our raw materials are sourced and treated, whilst adhearing to all European regulations.
UPCYCLING WASTE
Our newest initiative is the upcycling of waste textiles generated during the production process. We donate all of our scrap materials to local fashion schools and artisans, and also partner with local marginalized groups in an effort to provide the necessary tools to generate an income through crafts. Our most recent donations include The Smile of the Child organization, AMEA Care, Lalibela Children Support Organization, the Maria Kokkori Institution for Down Syndrome, and many more.
OUR PRODUCTS
We are constantly working to discover and use more sustainable materials and processes and have not only expanded our selection in natural fibers, such as linen, silk, wool and cotton, but have also adopted non-hazardous chemical alternatives in our dye process where available.
OUR PACKAGING
We have redesigned all Costarellos packaging to reflect our sustainability goals. Our acid-free, pH neutral tissue paper is made from recycled pulp with water-based ink and is biodegradable. It can be reused to store garments or can be 100% recycled. Our gift boxes are FSC certified and are made from recycled paper and card with 40-100% of post-consumer waste paper. As of recently, we have also implemented the use of sustainable polybags made from recycled PE, which includes 40-100% pre-consumer waste, as certified by ICEA.
